On March 26, 2012, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) modified the 1910.1200 Hazardous Communication Standard to align with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) to reduce the burden on companies and increase the quality and consistency of information regarding chemical hazards and their associated protective measures in the workplace and transportation.
