Environmental Management System (EMS) Policy
AGMET Environmental Health and Safety is very pleased to announce implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) Policy as we seek our ISO-14001:2004 certification, an internationally recognized standard for Environmental Management Systems.
Special thanks to each and every one of our employees without whose continued dedication the implementation and compliance to the standards would never have been possible.
Jaime Cleary, Agmet’s Environmental Health and Safety Director views the adoption of the Environmental Management System as an important step forward in the company’s approach to environmental stewardship. The policy calls for systematic integration of environmental management into all missions, activities, and functions. The policy requires current processes to be continually reviewed to identify better ways to reconcile the company’s practices and environmental stewardship missions.
It is reemphasizing Agmet’s commitment to the environment through our Recycle 100® Philosophy.
EMS is a recognized best management practice implemented by leading corporations worldwide. In industry, it is recognized as a more effective management approach than traditional environmental compliance-based approaches, because it helps to align business and environmental goals.

The 28th Annual Cleveland Safety Day at the Zoo
In June, AGMET participated in the well-attended Cleveland Metroparks 28th Annual “Safety Day at the Zoo” which was sponsored by the Greater Cleveland Safety Council.
Along with other Greater Cleveland Safety Council members and friends in attendance, AGMET’s Environmental, Health & Safety and Marketing teams promoted safety, good health, and protecting the environment.
AGMET recognizes the importance of educating the community on health and safety topics as well as protecting the environment. So, their team was thrilled to have the opportunity to educate youth on personal protective equipment (PPE), at home and in the workplace, as well as promote and educate all attendees on how AGMET is a key player in environmental protection.
Throughout the day, AGMET made it fun for the younger attendees to try-on different types of (PPE) and to test their knowledge of general health, safety and sustainability. All ages learned how AGMET eliminates industrial by-products, improves recycling rates, and uses best management practices to reduce wastes that may have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
The Greater Cleveland Safety Council (GCSC) is a community-based organization that promotes safety and prevents injury in the workplace, at home, in schools, and on the highways. Whether at work or play, GCSC safety council works hard to make the Greater Cleveland Area a safer place to live & work.
